Potato pancakes with a crisp golden crust, one of the most popular vegetarian dishes of the Belarusian cuisine.

Probably everyone who has ever visited or just plans to visit Belarus is familiar with such an interesting dish as Belarusian potato pancakes. Without them, it is impossible to know the true Belarusian cuisine. Draniki have their own unique history and recipe. Draniki are the thinnest potato pancakes with a golden crisp and in modern Belarus are one of the most popular dishes. The name “Draniki” came to us from the Old Belorussian language, and it appeared from the word “tear”, which can be translated into modern style as rubbing. After all, since ancient times in order to cook potato pancakes, raw potatoes were rubbed on a pointed plate.

Ingredients:

Potatoes, onions, garlic, salt, pepper, flour, eggs, sunflower oil. Served with sour cream and fried onions.
